AJ CAROTHERS
Book AJ Carothers began his career at CBS as Story Editor of Studio One and then as Associate Producer of Playhouse 90 and GE Theater. Mr. Carothers wrote for the television anthology The Dupont Show with June Allison, and for such popular series as My Three Sons and The Investigators. He created the ABC television series Nanny and the Professor and Goodnight, Beantown, as well as writing motion pictures for television. Walt Disney gave Mr. Carothers his first feature film assignment, Miracle of the White Stallions, followed by Emil and the Detectives, The Happiest Millionaire and Never a Dull Moment. Other film credits include Hero at Large and The Secret of My Success. His play Two Can Play has had successful runs at Virginia's Barter Theater and The New Theater in Kansas City. A recipient of the Los Angeles Music Center Club 100 Distinguished Artist Award, he wrote the Music Center Spotlight Awards Program from its inception for 16 years. He was a member of The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and its Writers Executive Committee, as well as the Writers Guild of America and The Dramatist Guild. Busker Alley marks AJ Carothers' final work, after a 40-year career writing for motion pictures, television and the stage. He died in April 2007, leaving a legacy of over 100 scripts.
